WSU Hosts Dr. Yu-Ming Ju
Yu-Ming Ju of the Institute of Plant and Microbial Biology, Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan visited the Department of Plant Pathology, Washington State University October 28-30, 2015. His visit was hosted by Professor Emeritus Jack Rogers. During the visit, Ju met with faculty, postdoctoral associates, and graduate students; and gave a lecture on the relationship between a termite species and the mushroom genus Termitomyces. Ju earned the Ph.D. in 1995 and did a postdoc under the direction of Rogers. In the Academia Sinica, Ju’s research focuses on taxonomy and phylogeny of fungi in the Xylariaceae; and biodiversity and biological aspects of fungi found in nests of black-winged subterranean termite (Odontotermes formosanus). He also teaches mycology in several universities in Taipei.
