Bhanu Priya Donda recently completed requirements for a Ph.D. degree in plant pathology at Washington State University. Her committee consisted of Naidu Rayapati (Chair) and Dennis Johnson (Department of Plant Pathology), Roy Navarre and George Vandemark (USDA-ARS), and Siddarame Gowda (University of Florida). Bhanu’s thesis was titled “Molecular biology and epidemiology of grapevine leafroll-associated viruses.” During her graduate program, Bhanu received Dr. Walter J Clore scholarship from the Washington Wine Industry Foundation; 2015-16 American Society for Enology and Viticulture scholarship; Student Travel Award to attend the American Society for Enology and Viticulture annual meeting, June 15-18, 2015, Portland, OR; and Raymond G. Grogan Student Travel Award from the American Phytopathological Society (APS) to attend the APS annual meeting, August 1-5, 2015, Pasadena, CA. Donda is going to move to central California to work with a crop diagnostics company.
