Grape virology team wins awards at the 2017 Washington Winegrowers annual meeting

The Washington Winegrowers Association ( organized a poster session at its annual convention held during February 7-9, 2017, at Kennewick, WA. Among the several research posters judged by grape and wine industry stakeholders at the annual convention, Dr. Naidu Rayapati’s grape virology team received two prizes under Professional Category for the following posters:

  • Second prize for the research poster titled “The complete genome sequence analysis of Grapevine lafroll-associated virus 1 for practical applications in vineyards” presented by Sridhar Jarugula (Post-Doctoral Associate) with co-authors Bhanu Priya Donda and Naidu Rayapati.
  • Third Prize for the research poster titled “Double whammy: Impacts of grapevine leafroll and red blotch diseases in commercial vineyards” presented by Dr. Prashant Swamy (Post-Doctoral Associate) with co-authors Sridhar Jarugula, and Naidu Rayapati.
