Congratulations to Dr. Sudeep Bag
Sudeep Bag was hooded during the Spring Commencement Ceremony held in Beasley Coliseum on May 4, 2013. Sudeep’s dissertation research was on understanding the biological, epidemiological and molecular properties of thrips-transmitted tospoviruses in vegetable cropping systems. His supervisory committee consisted of Drs. Hanu Pappu (chair), Amit Dhingra, Ken Eastwell, Neena Mitter (University of Queensland), and George Vandemark.
Sudeep received the Graduate School Scholarship (Fall 2012) for outstanding research in a Ph.D. program at WSU; GPSA travel and registration grant (Spring 2012) to attend 7th International IPM Symposium “IPM on the world stage-solutions for global pest challenges: transcending boundaries” Memphis, TN; and competitive national fellowship from the American Seed Research Foundation: Operation Student Connection to attend and give a presentation on his research at the 2011 American Seed Trade Association’s (ASTA) 128th annual convention, Huntington Beach, CA.
He has been representing the Plant Pathology Student Organization as a Senator in the WSU Graduate and Profession Student Association (GPSA) for the past two years.
