Annual Student-Invited Speaker

Dr. Marilyn RoossinckRoossinck group, Professor of Environmental Microbiology, Plant Pathology, and Biology at Pennsylvania State University and Sir Walter Murdoch Adjunct Professor at Murdoch University, visited our department from April 28th-30th for the graduate students’ annual Student Invited Distinguished Lecture Series.  During Dr. Roossinck’s visit she presented a well-attended seminar entitled “Viruses in Plant Adaptation to Extreme Environments.” In her seminar Dr. Roossinck discussed the emerging discipline of virus ecology and the roles of viruses in plant and fungal symbioses. She also met with students, postdoctoral research associates, and faculty from WSU and UI.
